Despite a 2020 in the wake of the pandemic, there are positive elements that should be highlighted, therefore here is a summary of what we have achieved together as partners.
What happened in 2020?
Despite efforts and close cooperation with authorities, the race had to be canceled. We are pleased with the low that is still burning among our registered participants who are thirsty for revenge this year, and which we are in the process of preparing for this opportunity.
“ The world is on the brink of a catastrophic moral failure, and the price for this failure will be paid in lives and livelihoods in the poorest parts of the world´´. WHO Secretary General. This is what the Secretary-General of the World Health Organization said and includes not only the inadequate redistribution of resources, but also the humanitarian inadequacy of the pandemic. The world has had to stop, and so has the commitment to human rights. During the prevailing social development with a virus that has ravaged freely, the political debate is still characterized by hatred and evil. More LGBTQI lives continue to be harvested, at the same time as the LGBTQI torch has been extinguished in several countries and many Pride trains have been canceled. In Israel, there are even religious leaders who claim that the pandemic is God’s punishment for all sinful gays, flats and transidentities in today’s society. Many people have been enlightened by their history, taken the deadly virus Covid-19 seriously, built respect for nature, life, health, the economy and human dignity. Unfortunately, this has not prevented the hateful rhetoric in politics or the religious ideologies from spreading their message. Neither do the conservative forces. On the contrary, LGBTQI people continue to be discriminated against, imprisoned, raped, beaten and murdered. We are needed! And together we can continue the fight in the right direction. Thanks to our sponsors, runners and partners, we can assist in this fight and our torch has not yet gone out. We continue our struggle to shed light on LGBTQI issues in a larger context and from a broader perspective where we are needed. The work is in full swing for the 2021 Run for Pride race, and our partners are already requesting collaborations with us. Are you ready for 2021’s Fight with Run for pride?
